Phil started a new series called Make a Comeback: Ezra’s Playbook for Returning Exiles. Ezra’s story of bringing Israel out of Babylonian exile is a remarkable part of scripture that has poignant implications for our current moment as we try to make our own comeback out of a difficult year. In this first sermon, Phil focused on God’s role within Israel’s return. He is the primary instigator of the return, and he will also play that role in our return. We must choose a posture of trust rather than a posture of control.
