CWBS (CENTER FOR WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES)
“The Gospel of Luke: A Promise Fulfilled”
CWBS is open to all women in the community who desire an in-depth study of God’s word. If you are looking for a welcoming place to dig into the Word with other women who desire a deeper relationship with God, we invite you to join us this year for a study of Luke.
“Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us. . .” (Luke 1:1), but ultimately, God inspired only four men to record the message of the good news of Jesus Christ. Luke, as one of the four inspired authors, expands the story of Jesus and shows us a gracious God that keeps his promise to bring salvation to all people. Not only does Jesus bring that salvation, but he demonstrates it through his interactions with people. He shows us God’s love for the rejected of society-especially women, sinners, the poor, and the powerless. Luke’s Gospel is very practical – packed with parables, teachings, and interactions found nowhere else in scripture. The Gospel of Luke has the power to impact us in a unique way and shape us into followers of Jesus that demonstrate his love and compassion to the world.
Meeting Times & Registration
Nine small groups (including one Zoom group) meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 9:30–11:00 September 5 through March 13. A Wednesday evening group will meet from 6:30-7:30, September 4 through March 12. CWBS does not meet through the holiday season, from Thanksgiving through the New Year. A study guide may be purchased on the first day of class for $10.
Childcare for infants through age five is provided during all of our CWBS Thursday morning studies and monthly luncheons. Please pre-register for childcare when you sign up for CWBS. Wednesday night offers bible classes for all ages, infants through high school.
