Family-To-Family Class & Support Group

Beginning September 26, our Family to Family educational class will meet, providing mental health support and education for family caregivers. We will meet the following dates: Sept. 26 Oct. 3, 17, 24, 31 Nov. 7, 14, 21 Dec. 5, 12, 19

Thirty-eight family members completed the NAMI 12-week Family-To-Family class in 2009. We invite MRCC members and community guests to participate in 2010.

Here are three comments from our 2009 class attendees:
~ "I appreciate the fact that MRCC is reaching out to church members and those in our community helping them deal with life challenges. This is the model that Jesus showed in His life to bring people to belief."

~ "MRCC has provided a wonderful service for members of the church and community with the NAMI program. It provided our family with knowledge and resources on how to help our son. I am so grateful for the class being offered and the care and concern shown by the class facilitators."

~ "I wish I had known these things about mental health 20 years earlier, so I could have helped my family better."

Additionally, on the 2nd & 4th Mondays each month, our NAMI "Family Support Group Class" meets. 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m., in Room A4-5. We provide mental health support and education for family caregivers. This support group provides an opportunity for family members to share the challenges and success of coping with mental illness from a family member's perspective.
